$10 difference between OEM CPU and Retail, should i pay the extra?

if cpu's work for the first few months then they work for the next few years, thats my experiance at least

also after 2-3 years it will be so outdated that a broken cpu will just be a great excuse to buy a faster one

i'd say it depends how much you're spending..I wouldn't if you are buying a 1600+ XP or something, but I would if it's a $150 or so 2400+ XP

Depends if you are a cheapass or not. I would get the Retail boxed on just to be on the safe side. What if you get a power surge like I had the other day and my UPS didn't catch it? It fvcked up my PSU because of that. Plus, AMD warranty is always a good thing.

10 dollars for retail def go for it. retail heatsinks are no slouch these days. for 10 dollars u would get a far worse after market cooler.

Where I live OEM cpus only have a 90 day warranty.

I dont care about the HSF that the retail cpu comes with because i already have a Thermalright AX-7 waiting for it (taken off my dead 1.2ghz)
