10 cent items daily in Music, Games, Apps, & for Movie rentals.
$1 album deals in Music.

Will buy some stuff I don't really want or need, for a dime at a time. Do see some music I want.

Too bad they don't bundle all the sale items together for a couple of bucks.

Don't see the deals on mobile or Windows 8 yet so perhaps the deals are only in the Windows 10 PC store.

Wonder if the movies are going to refresh. I rented and watch Jurassic World tonight on my Xbox 360. The streaming experience is much much better than it was the last time I rented a movie (6 years ago).

Did you rent it with the 360 or Windows 10? I don't have 10 yet but I have an Xbox One and would love to watch JP for 10 cents.

Edit: It looks like the movies may refresh according to a couple of folks at SD's. See if Mad Max is on sale for .10.

Yes, Mad Max is there and I rented it but have yet to watch it. I thought that movie looked new but I think many of the movies were the same ones as yesterday. I used the store in Windows 10 to purchase the rental. I don't think you can see those deals from the Xbox 360 store. Once purchase through windows 10, the rentals show up in your owned movies section on the Xbox.

If you stream a movie I know you get 14 days to watch and 24 hrs to finish once you start. Does anyone know if it is the same if you download?

I could only assume. The 24 hour timer should not start till you start the movie.

Today's music selection is for children. It looks like the albums are from kids movie soundtracks like Frozen, Toy Story, Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc.

Edit: Ok that's weird. Now I'm seeing yesterdays songs and albums I posted above. Maybe I got a sneak peak somehow.

That is a pretty stupid limitation, and, it seems that downloads also have the limitation as well.
It is a hard limit, no matter what.

I think this limitation is dictated by the studios. iTunes has a similar limitation. I recently rented a few movies on the iPad to watch while on a plane.

Yeah, I think you are right, but, they should just not carry these until a sane time period is put forward.
Nobody is forcing MS to carry these...

New music is up. Not sure if it's a price mistake or not but there are several full albums for $.10 this go around. They are in the first and second line and you can tell they are full albums and not individual songs by their full price showing crossed out. I was able to buy them in my browser and download them with the music app. I used the app because you can only dl songs from the store once.

Here's a full list of today's music on sale. I didn't strike out the retail price and highlighted the $.10 albums in red. It's worth checking out the $1 albums and $.10 songs though.

Album name - Artist - retail price - sale price

SexyBack - Justin Timberlake $1.29 $0.10

Tailgates & Tanlines - Luke Bryan $9.99 $0.10

True - Avicii $9.99 $0.10

Magna Carta... Holy Grail - Jay Z $14.99 $0.10

Halcyon - Ellie Goulding $9.99 $0.10

2001 - Dr. Dre $12.99 $0.10

The Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem $11.99 $0.10

Overexposed - Maroon 5 $9.99 $0.10

Sublime - Sublime $9.99 $0.10

Tha Carter IV - Lil Wayne $12.99 $0.10

Get Rich Or Die Tryin' - 50 Cent $8.99 $0.10

Love Never Felt so Good - Michael Jackson $1.29 $0.10

Swimming Pools (Drank) - Kendrick Lamar $1.29 $0.10

Novacane - Frank Ocean $1.29 $0.10

Nausea (Single) - Beck $0.99 $0.10

Back To The Shack - Weezer $1.29 $0.10

Dead Flowers - The Rolling Stones $1.29 $0.10

Play Ball - AC/DC $1.29 $0.10

Finally Found You - Enrique Iglesias $1.29 $0.10

I Look to You - Whitney Houston, R. Kelly $1.29 $0.10

Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen $8.99 $1.00

Exile On Main Street - The Rolling Stones $9.99 $1.00

Weezer (Blue Album) - Weezer $9.99 $1.00

The Joshua Tree - U2 $9.99 $1.00

What's Going On - Marvin Gaye $9.99 $1.00

Nevermind - Nirvana $9.99 $1.00

Dreamboat Annie - Heart $9.99 $1.00

Hi Infidelity - REO Speedwagon $9.99 $1.00

Nice find on the 10c albums mixed in with the singles. Had also noticed something was odd with a few of the store listings & came here to post. They did say there would be a few surprises mixed into the sale.

EDIT: Jurassic World & Terminator Genisys movies are back as 10c rentals. They were among the day one specials that had returned to full price before they were supposed to.

I got that Weezer blue album back when they offered it for free last year (Christmas deal) but it is excellent none the less. I rented a few movies because they were 10 cents. I have all the Comcast channels and probably can find them for free but these purchases are not hurting my wallet.

Does anyone know what can be done with this stuff? I saw the deals last night and tried to find the info online, but came up empty, so skipped on buying anything. Can you burn the music to a CD? Seems to be centered around Groove Player? Do I need to install the app on my phone? What's the format/quality? Same with the movies, if I buy the movie, what can I do with it? Is it stuck on my computer forever? Can it be downloaded? Is the only option to stream to Xbox? Quality?

Why is none of this info available right on the purchase page?

I think you can only download the music once unless you use the app. Or at least I didn't get a warning using the app versus their website. The songs I downloaded were 320kb/s mp3. Either way you should back up your data in case of hardware failure. I didn't burn to cd but I did copy them over to my data HDD with no problems and they do play with vlc player and foobar2000 so they are not limited to playing in the app.

I can't help with the movies because I don't have Windows 10.

I gave it a try and it seems no restrictions. I didn't burn them (people still do that? ;)), but I did upload it to Google Play and it worked fine (listening to it right now through Google)

I haven't looked for any other restrictions, but the biggest issue I have with Groove is that you can't even stream music you bought from them unless you download it and then reupload it to OneDrive. I don't know who came up with that idea, but they're insane. I'll buy music from them when it's stupid cheap, but I'm never going to use it beyond that.

I downloaded the iOS app. I was able to stream my purchases as well as on the Windows 10 Music app without having to had downloaded them previously. The iOS app says that if you upload music, you can play it anywhere. I figured that meant any music that is mp3 (and if so, that is better than iTunes match which I pay $25 a year for) but I've yet to try.

Edit: Both the iOS and Windows 10 apps used were the Groove app.

Do you have a music pass? That would allow it.

Maybe they smartened up in the last few weeks and changed it, but I know I started streaming music from it on my XBone a while back and got stopped after 20 or 30 plays, whatever the trial length was, and then it stopped and told me I had to either buy a music pass or reupload everything I'd bought to OneDrive.

Edit: Just looked up Groove in the Play store and it still says "Add your mp3s to OneDrive and play them wherever you go."

Ok. I uploaded an MP3 file and an AAC file I ripped with iTunes to my One Drive "Music" folder and I am now able to steam them to iOS without downloading. This is pretty cool.
