Any list of this nature that doesn't have a Chevrolet Citation on it is an incorrect list.

<shrug> my brother had an 83 Citation. It wasn't that bad. Heck, the thing even had working AC while my dad's car that was 10 years newer had broken AC :p

I had to look up the Chevy Citation to make sure it actually existed. Why on earth would you name a car the Citation? I don't even care what it looks like, I don't want that.

Actually Caddy used this shining example as the basis for the Cimarron, not the Cavalier.
I was about 13 or so when the Cimmaron was released and even I questioned the stupidity of it. But of course, the guidos in my neighborhood just had to have one. They looked especially hot with the landau roof option. Ack, what a fucking disaster.

No, it was the Cavalier platform, http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1658533_1658526,00.html, http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_Cimarron. it even looked like a Cavalier with some extra body moldings..

I don't really agree with the Z3 or the C230; I see quite a few of them around, they didn't have any catastrophic issues, and, for the most part, they tend to be well liked by their owners.

If anything, I would've picked the 318ti over those two.

No, they were that bad and worse.

Sales were huge in it's first year, but had evaporated by its 3rd year. It had started earning a reputation in its second year as being garbage, and sales began deflating by the second half of the second year of its run.

LOL. I had this exact one - Red 4 door hatchback.

It was a total pice of crap. I lost track of how many outer CV boots I had replaced on it - at least 5.

"Making its U.S. debut at the 1984 Los Angeles Auto Show, the quirky hatchback offered buyers a 55-hp engine that was capable of 30-mpg fuel ratings and a claimed 110-mph top speed for just $3990. As an added bonus, the GV (great value) Yugo also boasted a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty. "

I knew a girl that had one, the tranny kept popping out in 5th gear, dealer had no parts so they told her to "keep your hand on the shifter while cruising", LOL..

I bought a used 1988 Yugo in 1990 for $1500 right before I went into the Army. Drove that car all the way from Idaho to Louisiana and back again during leave almost a year later. Was a pretty peppy car once I figured out how to manually change the engine timing. The worst trouble I had was a partially plugged hi speed jet in the carburetor, fixed that on the roadside using the little toolkit that came with the car. it consisted of a few open end wrenches, pliers, and a screwdriver :) Later traded it in for $2000 against a 1989 Isuzu extended cab pickup.

The Yugo was a solid little car. It was inexpensive but made in a factory that had been producing variants of this platform for 20 years since the yugo was a Fiat clone made in a transplanted factory.

The one I had took care of me for 2 years in high school then was passed around for 14 years in my family till the rust took er. Wish I knew the mileage at the end.

Its the Fiat Punto of its day
