I had no idea what American Apparel was. Searched it out at work, clicked on their site and suddenly there is a topless chick staring me in the face. Apparently they nudity in their ads. Not that I care, but seeing that pop up at work was a bit of a shocker.

you'd think that after taking these pictures for a decade, the guy who does them would have figured out something about photography. or maybe he's just going for the bad amateur porn look.

Nokia is already nonexistent in the US. I suppose lot sof US-biased editors don't understand that Nokia is still insanely popular overseas and in Asia and developing countries. Fail to the max. It's not like anyone really knew Nokia from the US to begin with anyway unless you were a phone enthusiast.

Actually for much of the late 90's and early new millennium they were super popular in the US as well. They were the gold standard brand for most of the providers except Sprint and Nextel.

I think that list must have meant "in America". Cuz Nokia isnt going anywhere. And the people who make Sony Ericsson phones are going to die. They will just continue to sell Sony phones in Asia, where they are a powerful presence.

the A&Ws here are coupled with other chain fast food. the one i go to by my house is with KFC, the one in maricopa is partnered with long john silvers. i hope they dont go away, its pretty good food. i just wish they would bring back the frosty mugs they used to serve it in. im glad a bought a few when they first opened too.

They still serve it in frosty mugs in the Michigan locations. I go there every year during our Christmas Frankenmuth trip.

Kellogs Corn Pops- that stuff is like sweetened styrofoam anyway. Not a fan.

Sears- I go there for appliances and tools. Occasionally clothes. Kmart never lived down it's rep of being a poor people store. They should have closed them.

Blockbuster? Or are they already considered out of the game?

What happened to Myspace? It used to be as big or bigger than Facebook, it just kind of fell off the map. I guess there is a clear winner of the 'Social Network Wars'.

I used to shop at Sears for home appliances and hardware tools, I haven't done that for a while, with Home Depot and Lowe's around.

Sears used to be the go-to store for tools, appliances, even tires. And for many, many Americans, it was their #1 non-food shopping destination of choice.

Sears was a colossus. They were "the mall" before there were malls, and shoppers put their trust in Sears basic quality like no other. People knew that if something had the Craftsman or Kenmore or Allstate brand on it (all in-house Sears brands), you could trust it to be a decent buy for the money.

Along the way, they sold EVERYTHING, even entire house kits and cars (re-badged Kaiser Henry J's under their Allstate label.)

But times changed, as "times" always do, and somewhere along the line, they took that commanding and pre-eminent place of trust with everyday Americans built on a hundred plus years of well-earned good will and turned it into one big pile of fail.

All American Apparel needs to do is outsource to China and cut their prices in half.
