10,650 3D marks on my R8500!!

I haven't volt modded yet. With this cooling I can run the card at 310/304. It's a 64MB built by ati retail card flashed to a 9100 bios. I'm very happy with the results.

what drivers ya usin?

cat3.1 drivers...latest ones. if you're brave like me you should try flashing to the 9100 bios if you can get a hold of a 128mb version; it gave me a nice boost.

i ran the tests with all the driver options set to fastest.

the links are strange...geocities doesn't seem to work very well for me...i'm going to have to find a new place to host files.

Ok here's the compare URL:

3D mark score

The exact score is 10678.

I'll benchmark with quality settings in a bit. I benchmarked UT2003 and I got ~75fps at 1280x1024 in Antalus with maximum quality (game) and maximum performance settings (drivers).

Very nice score, it's a touch faster than what I got with my Radeon 8500LE @ 315/315 (no modding ). Then again my drivers were set at balanced, so that may account for the difference (I may try to run with performance settings later to see if that changes the score at all

my compare URL I can only run at this speed stably with an open case though.

(why didn't you run all the tests btw?)

Max Quality Settings 3dmark

I got 9778 3dmarks with all of the sliders set to max quality. I'm going to try some more benches with AF enabled.

Hi-Lo all 8500 owners. I know this is off topic, but it has the reponse of 8500 owners as I own one myself. I was just wondering, how do all of you 8500 owners think the card will do with doom3? I know doom3 was built around the 9700, but I was just wondering how it would perform.

it'll probably run half way decently, but only at lower resolutions and with a lot of the eye candy turned off.

I tried the DoomIII alpha and it CRAWLED. My guess is 800x600 /w most features turned off.
