10^-28

There's obviously no nuclear physicists on ATOT tonight. It's a barn, you morons!

Unit used in nuclear physics to indicate probability of a reaction between nuclear particles and atomic nuclei or even other nuclear particles. The dimension of the Barn is cross sectional area and 1 Barn is equal to 10-28 m². The ?physical cross section area? of the nucleus of an atom is approximately 1 Barn but depending on the reaction involved the actual ?reaction cross section area? can vary over many decades of Barns in size and are very dependent on particle energy.

meh, posted at the same time. you just got in a second before me. well... whiel we're on metric here.... a hectaminute before me. lol

I was just gonna post a barn, but meh.

Actually a barn is fairly large in particle physics terms, hence the name (couldn't hit the broadside of a barn).

There's actually a thread about this tonight. My humor was not recognized 😛

Oh wow, I slaughtered that. Didn't even get the right exponent. Chemistry was a shitload of work but man was it fun. Can't wait for AP Physics. Taking a break from science this year then gonna hit it hard with a baseball bat next year.

Quickly! What is so important about the number
