I just bought a 10/100 switch at Fry's for about $70 plus there is a $20 mail in rebate. It's a SOHO, I have a couple of their NIC's and they seem to work fine.... BTW, Fry's is in Dallas, Texas, but the offer may be at other places other than just at Fry's...

It has 5 ports... I guess missed that Pointclick deal though :( ... I'll have to check in on it. Thanks

Is it a switch or a hub. Big diff between the two (one remembers the IPs of the computers that are hooked up and one doesn't). I'm sure you guys have noticed that on hubs, if one person is transfering files to another, the entire network goes down and packet loss goes up pretty quickly... doesn't happen with switches...

In that same thread above, do it through Staples, and it's $16.

I'm looking at mine right now. :)

The one that I bought is a switch, not a hub. If hadn't been taken some Cisco classes I would not have known what the difference was... That is one of the main reasons why I bought it. 10/100 hubs were about $100, but the switch is better and about half the dough :)
