if i connect two PC's with 10/100/1000 ports to a 10/100/1000 Airlink switch that is connected to a 10/100 airlink router, will the PC's 'talk' to each other at 10/100 or 10/100/1000 speeds?

so once the IP is assigned by the router, the PC's will 'talk' to either other directly?

nothing would go through the router at all (which I would assume slow down the connection)??

The PCs have direct layer-2 (MAC) access to eachother; so traffic between them does not go through the router.

Note, only the PCs that are connected to the Giga switch and have a Giga card would talk Giga.

A computer with Giga card that it plugged into the Router's switch would talk 100 to a Giga Computer.
