10,000 Cops to guard President Bush in Israel

Israeli officials have announced that over 10,000 police officers will be deployed to protect George Bush when he visits Israel next week as hundreds of American flags are being put up and graffiti is being washed from the walls of Jerusalem.

Eight truckloads of equipment have already arrived at the King David hotel prior to Bush?s visit in a security operation which has been deemed Operation Clear Skies by the Israeli security services.

Adam Gadahn, an American militant linked to al-Qaida released an internet video yesterday calling for attacks on Bush during his Middle East visit.

That's crazy, but almost expected.

That's because when there is a crime there is no police around to report it to. Just cause it's not documented does not mean it didn't happen.

That's because when there is a crime there is no police around to report it to. Just cause it's not documented does not mean it didn't happen.

Canadians tend to trust the police quite a bit. I'd say the vast, vast majority of crimes are reported.

Canada's population is 33 million, and most of Canada is not urban. NYC has a population of 8 million. So figure Canada has 2.5 times as many cops per capita as NYC. (using the figures 64,000, 33 million, 36,000, and 8.2 million, and ballparking it in my head so cut me some slack ). But NYC is an urban area, so you'd expect more cops per capita and more crime per capita.

People outside of the U.S who would like to harm Bush don't really care for him as GWB, they hate him for being the president of what they see as their biggest enemy, and it could've been anyone else for that matter.
These very same people also hate Israel, and to manage harming a US president on Israeli soil is like Bin-Laden's wet dream, he gets a hardon just from the thought of what the consequences for that could be. This is why the Israelis go insane with this security operation spending millions on it and practically sealing off any country region GWB might be near, not because people at home don't like Bush...
