That truck in the picture might be able to sell...if they slapped on knockoffs and some hydros, or some bags

Well the design is ugly, but I guess it is good to add more power to the toyota line up. It still doesnt touch the new Ram 1500 from Dodge, them babys are sweet. My dad just got a new one 2 weeks ago, with a big 5.9 under the hood, oh yeaa

The 5.9 is crap compared to the new 5.7 liter Hemi coming for '03...hubba hubba hubba. 345 HP, 365 lb-ft of torque and better gas mileage:p:p:D:) The old 5.9 is 245 HP/335 lb-ft

Good things come to those who wait :D

true, 03 is going to be a good year I think for all car manufacturers, but the 5.9 has all the power that my dad needs for right now. He will probably trade it in around 3 years from now anyway. It is still a sweet truck, I'm glad he didn't go with another F-150, the new body styles are just crap.

No thanks. I hate cheap TOys, thin sheet metal, no torque, and something I can't fit in without ducking to see the traffic lights. Tell me will it have 500 ftlbs of torque like my PSD and get 22 mpg?

"Marketing plan" LOL!!!Tundras have'nt sold cause they are cheap and overpriced.

<< you get 500 ft/lbs of torque with the 5 speed or the auto? BTW, crew cab or extended? >>

Andy,

In todays cars and trucks they always quote measurments from the flywheel. So in advertising they are the same, but naturally you'll get more torque to the rear wheels with a stick and have better gear selection and milage. Mine an extended cab (small seats in back).

yeah, i kinda noticed that the torque curves vary a pretty good amount from the stick and the auto. BTW, how do you like the powertrain?

I think the Ford and Dodge pwertrains are the best right now. I have the 7.3L diesel with a Dana 60 front and Dana 80 rear (both Have Lockers). Both axels are pretty much bullit proof. I hit rocks with them, climb anything, twist and turn then every which way and no probelmo, yet. I am running a 4" lift with 38"x 14.5" SSR's with 4.10 gears. and still get 20-25 mpg!!

The only better thing is the allison tranny you can get as an option, But i defered cause of price.

I never liked it at all ;) GM 350 or Ford 351 was my choice of old blocks... Ford in the late 80's early 90's easy as the T-body sucked bad on the 350, but was easily replaced with TPI or MPI
