Ok so when I first heard about C3D Data Storage I was pretty excited, but now that there is 15-gig DVD's and 2 Gig Jaz drives, is 1 terrabyte of information really going to be that usefull?

I don't think so, not for a long while anyway. What we really need is new RAM technology's I think.

Oh and didn't 3001 the book predict that 1 terrabyte was the theoretical limit of storage capacity? Hehe that was waaaay off.

I sent an email to this company about 8 months ago asking when we might see this technology on the market. They told me at that time that it would be 1-2 years I think. They said they were having talks with companies that would bring the product to the market. I guess companies like creative labs and such. The video at the site is cool check it out!

Hmm, hope they have an idea on how to increase burn speed as well - 650 mb takes approx. 6 mins on a 12X, at this rate 1,000,000 mb will take...uhmmm 9230 mins or 153 hours, or 6 and a half days :)
