i woudl totally sign up but its probably a waste. i've already got my aventuremail account and backed up all my pictures on that. 1TB is awesome, but chances are there'll be a time i won't log in for the 90 days they say and lose my account, which is no good!

i just realized that we could use this service as a way to distribute large files between us.

i mean for e.g. we have weekly top gear uploads. now, instead of using up super-large amounts of bandwidth on someone's server, have one person email it to this youvegotpost account, and they can forward it to anyone who asks for it. i don't think too many people have incoming file size limits, or do they?

I'm thinking I need to sign up... 😉

Who needs Bittorrent when you've got terabyte email?!?!?

exactly my thought. i mean think about it, for each additional person you want a send a, say, 700MB file to, you use maybe 100Kb logging onto the system and forwarding the email as an attachment to whoever requested for it. no need to re-upload 700 megs or depend on other people seeding a file etc.

only pain there is the manual labor of logging on and forwarding, instead of simply leaving your bittorrent as a seed while you're out to lunch.

I got it but MyIE2 wouldn't download it right cause of the script they use, so I tried FireFox and it worked. Downloaded at about 1 megabit.

I bet if people started swapping hundreds of megabytes of data it would bring their servers to a slow crawl.

At first I thought, well they could just "scan" attatchments to make sure people aren't using it to send pirated software, music, video, etc. But then I thought... what if they used Winzip 9 to compress and encrypt the file using 256-bit encryption and give it a name that has nothing to do with the contents? They wouldn't be able to guard against that I don't think... or could they?

Well what did you think of t?

I liked the t's very much 🙂

messages really take forever to get through! i sent emails to myself last night and didn't get them for 2 hours! and this is no attachment <1KB emails!

with delays like those in an emailing system, i know it won't be satisfactory... i want my emails instantly, dammit!
