Some guy online did this with an old tire that the trash company wouldn't take.
The mail guy too it, once he wrapped it in a box and stuck a return to sender mailer on it.

Yeah I get so much junk mail at my apartment complex that I just stopped picking it up. I receive all my mail at my post office box anyways. The mail carrier notified the apartments who called me and I said no thanks I don't want it.

I thought that was people sending tires/trash to africa from scammers with pre-paid Fed-Ex labels?

Sick of getting junk mail? Apparently you can take those "No Postage Necessary if Mailed in the United States" envelopes, put it on a box, and it will be delivered to the offending junk mailer.

I remember when my dad did this. He used one of the boxes a car model of mine came in. 1968 was a great year.

I think it was here that I read about somebody that would shred the applications and mail the crosscuts back to the sender.

I thought that was amusing.

I rip up the application, advertisements, and original envelope (and sometimes other junk mail I get that day) and put it all in the return envelope and send it back to the company. It really makes my day.

I read/heard somewhere that this was a bad idea, as the postal carriers have to do twice the work. It may not seem like a lot, an envelope here and there, but if it adds up....I think when I read it, it was about the AOL mail spam cd's....

EDIT: Although, I do like the idea of shredding their mailings and stuffing that back into the return envelope....<evil grin>

The thing I remember seeing was some guy who was supposed to send a pallet of laptops to the scammers, but sent a broken washing machine instead :laugh:

I send them all kinds of crap in their return envelopes...usually the ads from other companies, pages from unwanted catalogs, etc. I fill the envelop up as full as I possibly can, after all, they send me shit, it's only proper that I return the favor...

mailboxes now state the weight limit of ~13oz or whatever... security thing.
so its too much trouble even if it did work...and yea it doesn't apparently from starightdope.

i guess the better thing to do is just to stuff the return envelope with other junk mail and send it back for them to deal with lol
