1 + old firmware = 2 bad drives > dell tech support

What an idiot.


Outdated firmware marked BOTH drives bad at the same time. Got a call from dell saying they have an IMMEDIATE bios update that will fix this. (before we even called them..)

we get the update, and update it, but the drives are still marked as failed.

call dell. The guy starts telling about his days as an airplane pilot, and how harddrives are like airplanes.

ended up fixing it myself. (forced one drive online, booted off of one drive, then mirrored that drive to the supposed failed drive.)
 
u should get an intern(like me) have them sit on the line with Dell, espically since I am fron India, i can yell at them in Hindi and they will know i mean business. Thats what I did last summer
