1 MHz CPU OC = No POST. Why?

I have a Q9450 on a Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 and am looking for a solution to a problem that is baffling me. The system works fine at stock clocks with DDR3-1333 memory, but changing the CPU bus clock to anything other than 333MHz - even 334MHz - results in the board refusing to POST. The memory is being run at 1.9V as rated (+0.4V in BIOS), but everything else is at stock voltage, clocks, and timings. I could understand insufficient voltage to one component causing this refusal to POST with a modest OC, but I'm figuring that the board refusing to POST with a CPU bus speed only 1 MHz above stock should not be due to lack of voltage. It's probably something simple, but I am still baffled and am looking for suggestions. Thanks for the help in advance
