I don't know... around here it was running wild in late october. I had it as well as all my family. I'd believe it.

OP probably lives in the middle of fucking nowhere, with little human interaction. The high population centers have been slammed with H1N1 the past 3 months. The numbers would probably work out and explain why you have been unexposed.

I think my whole family had it. Doctor said it was probably it. Wife and I took Tamiflu and knocked it out in a couple days. I was only bad for a day or 2. the cough lingered for a while afterwards though.

I don't know anyone who has had it either, but if most of the people in cities got it and practically none of the people in the country it might work out to an average of 1 in 6 Americans. That 17% all lived around each other instead of near you.

I live in a major metro with mostly illegal aliens (cubans and haitians, and a lot of mexicans/south americans too). Miami.

Nobody I know had swine flu.

I think I know of one thread here where someone said he had it. No other cases come to mind, and no one I know has had it.

I live in Memphis and have not heard of any serious outbreaks. I don't know anyone that had it. This is an estimate. I am in a room now with 18 people, that would mean 3 had it and nobody did.

I live in Los Angeles, and I don't know anyone who had it.

I know one person in TN who says they had it.

And are these diagnosed cases of swine flu or just reported?

it was weird, there was none...then 3/4 of my classes were out with it. Honestly it's not that bad. I had it. It's like a particularly weak sinus infection.

At least one of my extended family members had it, my aunt, probably more than 1 so the numbers work out here. In fact she came down with fairly sever pneumonia as well. She and her partner are teachers and so is my father and they all report large numbers of students ill.

I most likely had the flu a few weeks ago, not sure if it was seasonal or H1N1. Didn't bother going to the doctor because I never got sick enough, but my symptoms were all consistent with the flu.

Students look for reasons to cut class. That is not a good example.

Not in these numbers. Some schools in bad areas had 50% or more students out at a time. Believe it or not most students actually come to class even if they have a good reason to skip.

My entire family has probably had it. If you've had the flu in the last couple months, it was probably H1N1. It was pretty mild in general, but my son got pneumonia from it.

Oh noesss!!!!
If 50,000,000 people had it in US, and 10,000 has died from it, that makes a .02% fatality rate, less than the reported fatality rates of the seasonal flu.
That means 2 out of every 10,000 people with swine flu will actually die from it.
You scared now?!

Don't forget that the two that die most likely had a pre-existing medical condition that had weakened them to the point they could have died from a cold.

I went to three different high schools, two in Memphis, and people looked for any reason not to come to school. Memphis is just about dead last in the country for public schools, this could be a contributing factor.
