I work at a school as a low level admin. We have a bunch of low model Dell computers they I need to format and installed.
I have about 30 Dell's mostly with Dell Optiplex 240, 260 280 and Dim 8200 and 3000 and 4500. I'm also setting up the school image for the new Optiplex 760 Trying to talk them into quad cores
Low end P4 machines mostly.
Windows XP SP3 with upgrades
Adobe Reader
Adobe Flash
Adobe Shockwave
Office 2003
Firefox
And Drivers for each model computer
I have a server already setup (Windows 2003 Server)
Server Info
Xeon P3 1 ghz
8 gigs of Ram
8 x RAID setup 243gigs
It's not much but it works well for ghosting.
I currently use ghost 11 with different images for each model by using ghost cast to ghost images. I hate making a image for each computer. I know you can make a image that can be used for any model computer even a pos dell and i can load driver for whatever model the computer is.
What programs out there are simple to do this with. I have been messing with sys prep but i can't get a working image out of it. I might be coding it wrong. Are there any free programs that can do this for me. Or does anyone have any input to help me out
Thanks
