i have one hard drive with 2 partitions and i have an XP install on each partition. i used to have that OS selection menue before booting into windows, but i no longer have that... (after a reformat and reinstall of the first XP)

how can i get that OS selection menu back?

Go to System Properties (right click on My Computer and select Properties)

Click the Advanced tab, go to Startup and Recovery and click settings. Make sure your System Startup checkboxes are all checked.

You can manually change your boot loader by clicking edit. This will allow you to select which disk and partition numbers you're wanting to boot from. It may take a little working through to get it just right. It pays to have your Windows CD around in case you have to boot to the recovery console to make adjustments.
