Can someone tell me what the max temp a 1 gig T-bird axia can run without risking anything?

Or just link me to a page.

Thanks

Word on the street is that AMD says under 75C is acceptable. i say 45-60C is acceptable.

i think ~90c is the max it can take (but not sustained)
i think it can sustain ~65c without damage
i think ~55-60c is the max without instability (crashes)
generally, if it's kept under 50c under load, it should be fine, although overclocked cpu's tend to be pickier...

Interesting

I am just doing O/C 8.5*133 and I am doing 66 C

when i did the un-O/Ced I was usually doing 56 C

I wanna get the fastest I can do without melting my investment

What the heck are peltier (spelling correct?) coolers and are water coolers worth the big bucks?

peltier coolers are interesting. they basically act as heat pumps. apply a voltage and one side gets very hot but the other side (that touches the processor) gets very cold.

downside is condensation, but they're pretty cool.

and you have to work on cooling the hot side, also tricky

that's why you add a fatty heatsink to it :)

water cooling setups are for:
A) extreme overclocking, they are better than a hsf
b) coolness factor, i wouldn't mind saying i have a water cooling setup
