Seen that a couple days ago, different brand though. But the price.... OMFG! You could buy 3 1GB Microdrives for price of that specific unit :)

looks nice but cannot justify the price. Professional photographers are using the IBM 1GB microdrives already and they can be read in any CF II reader also. They cost less than half of that.

Fairly recently.

Anyways, 256 MB cards are cheap as borscht these days, and 512 MB cards prices are coming down too, so it's MUCH cheaper to get 2 512 MB cards and even cheaper to get 4 256 MB cards.

For most people, I think more than one card is a better idea anyway:

1 GB - card gets corrupted - lose 600 4 MP pictures.

256 MB - card gets corrupted - lose 150 4 MP pictures.

I have had two different cards corrupt themselves on me. Fortunately they only had a couple of worthless pictures on them. They can be easily reformatted but in the meantime you lose the content. So since then I've learned that bigger isn't necessarily better.

It may be useful if you take a lot of .raw or .tif pictures though, since one 5 MP image is around 15 MB.

we use them but there are some reports of unreliability among the 1GB MD's. 256CF is probably the standard right now.
