1 GB DDR module prices

Right now, 512 MB modules seem to be in the price sweetspot. When can we expect 1 GB modules to drop in price? Right now where I live, 1 GB modules are about 33% more expensive than two 512 MB modules.
 
I'm in no hurry, as when 1GB modules become the sweet spot, then two of them will be considered necessary for best performance. I'm just not ready for 2GB to be considered the MDR for memory...
