1 Free Week of Gold Gym

...........hmm, free but still requires work. Where was that free cheese thread....

😉

Link seems to be dead.

Highly recommend AGAINST this as they will try to FORCE you to sign a membership. Whatever you do, do not give them any billing info or even a correct phone number. They will hound you.

Force you? How so?

As far as I know, this 7-day free trial is ALWAYS available to people who have not been to that particular Gold's before, at least at locations near me.

When I was searching for a gym to join in PA years ago, my fiance and I tried out the free week and had no problem just letting it expire. The local YMCA up there was better & cheaper. One thing that's funny, they ask you to fill out a form which includes fitness goals. That's one thing they so seem to follow up on you with if you decide not to join. About two weeks after letting the membership expire they called me and rather bluntly asked "So, have you put on that 10 pounds of muscle, yet?" I thought it was funny/mildly annoying, but I just told them I joined the YMCA instead and they left me alone. I never heard from them again. I wouldn't worry about being hounded by anyone if you sign up for the free trial. I suppose you could even put fake contact info if you signed up in-house.

All that said, when I moved here to DC I joined the Gold's down here and I like it a lot.

EDIT: I always thought it would be funny if they made a similarly-styled phone call to all the women who put down weight loss as a goal. "So, did you lose those 70 pounds, yet?" 😛😛

I'm go to Golds too. Interesting, the membership I have covers four different local Gold's and I notice that the four places have a way different characters:

Location A is a 30 something meat market
Location B is suburbia heaven
Location C is the real deal, but with a few folks who seem inordinately muscular, ala Barry Bonds
Location D is a get in, get it done, and get out site and the one I most frequently visit

So I suspect that a one week visit is probably a good thing so you can see whather you like the feel of a given gym. But what do I know, I'm just a middle aged guy trying not to check out early...

I agree, and I'd also have to comment that the facility quality varies GREATLY by location Right now I'm at the Alexandria, VA one and it's pretty new and has a massive amount of space/equipment. I love it.

I'm moving to Centreville, VA in a month so I scouted the Gold's around there - The one in Manassas is right next to this huge "Primo Supermercado" & Mexican restaurants and looks like a converted elementary school; I've never seen a gym in such poor shape. Eight miles north in Chantilly the Gold's is located in a corporate park and it's fairly good quality & expanding.
