1 FPS in 3dMark05

I have just upgraded from a FX5200 to a XFX 6600GT 128mb AGP card. At first the card was very poor ? in fact the FX5200 ran better in some games! I have now removed all drivers with Driver Cleaner 3 and then re-installed the latest drivers for the card and my Mobo. The card now seems to work much better.

I decided to run 3Dmark05 to see if the card was now working at its fullest. I got a score of 3258, but in the tests in never got more than 20 FPS and in one test in never went above 4 (mainly staying on 1) FPS. Is this normal? Is this how the thing tests the card? I never tested a card so I am not sure.

I just get a feeling from reading all other reviews etc that my card is not what it should be. I know my system is not the best you can get but surely the card should run Doom 3 better than my old card. (by the way, Doom 3 recommends I play the game on LOW settings in the lowest resolution.

My system:
Asus P4P800
P4 2.6
2x256 PC3200
Maxtor SATA hdd
Leadtek Winfast TVcard
SB Audigy

the tests in which you got 1 fps are the CPU tests. your score is fine for a p4 2.6

LOL, the first time I ran the test the 1 fps parts got me all upset too, but then I realized those are software rendering (cpu test) so it's no problem. 3200 is what a 6600gt usually gets.

Thats a relief. Having shelled out for a new card I wanted to make sure it was working the best it could.
Cheers.
