1 dollar and charity

I was just thinking, if you could get almost every Anandtech member to donate 1 dollar to a fund, and then donate the money to a different charity you could do a whole lotta good. Not really proposing anything by this, just made me realize the potential power of a number of people with good hearts. I mean really, who can't spare a dollar for a good cause? And if only half the members actually donated that's still 22950 bucks.. not too shabby. Any thoughts?

It's amazing what a very large group of people with big hearts can do isn't it. I think it's a wonderful idea, but deciding on a charity might be a bit of a problem.

That is true. I think several people would go for it if it was for a good cause.

Hell, I'd do it in a min. I'd easily through in more than a buck, think of like 5 bucks a person or anything of the like? But you're right, deciding on the charity could be a problem. Or I guess you could have a thread to suggest a few, and a thread to vote? Who knows.. just shooting ideas out.

Just guessing, but a charity that donates computers to organizations for kids seems fitting. Just a suggestion. A poll would be a great idea though.
