I have a case with:
3 x 120mm front fans
2 x 120mm top fans
1 x 120mm rear fan
I am going with AIO coolers for the first time with a Corsair H100i GTX (240mm) for the CPU and two 120mm Rads for my GPUs.
The question is, what is the best placement for them?
There are so many variables particularly with the GPU rads, I am not sure which way to go. For example:
The GPU rads recommend mounting them above the cards with the tube side facing down. Im not sure how strict of a recommendation this is as I see a lot of photos where they are mounted sideways with the tubes on the side and below the cards.
Also, I would prefer to stay with positive pressure, so Im not sure how that comes into play when you have the airflow reduction from rads in front of your fans.
Originally, I thought to just have the two GPU rads in the front as intake, the top with the H100i as exhaust and the rear as exhaust. This seems to be the traditional method. However, it has been recommended to have the top as intake since intake for the rads cools them down more than exhaust and it has little effect regarding bringing in heat to the case as long as you have good airflow. This principle is illustrated here:
Are front mounted radiators bad for your PC?
Thoughts, experiences, recommendations, links to tests, anything is appreciated.
