1 computer operate two sets of monitors/keyboards/mice that are far apart?

A friend owns a garage and is seeking my computer advice. He currently has a newer Dell computer in his office, but wants to set up another monitor/keyboard/mouse outside of the office. He asked if this were possible using some type of long distance KVM or if it would be cheaper to just buy another computer along with a new keyboard,mouse, and monitor.

well it would really depend on how long the cables he wants to run. You can get reverse kvm switches that allow what you want to do, and can usually run the cables upto about 25ft.
Belkin has some as do iogear i believe
