1 computer limitation

So the ISPs here in Bangladesh appear to have a 1-computer limitation, and you have to pay extra for more computers. Now, we're only visiting for 2 more weeks, and don't feel the need to pay 20 bucks extra for our 2 laptops that we brought.

Is there a way to bypass this limitation? It's a PPPoE connection (aka dialup broadband).

Basically, this is what I'd like to do. My laptop is laptop A. Laptop B has internet. I'd like to establish some sort of connection over some medium (WiFi card?) that allows laptop A to use the internet readily accessible on laptop B. Is this possible?

yes, MAC address cloning. You probably have a section in your router where you can set the MAC address.

No router. Laptop B is directly connected to the modem.

What about the MAC address of the two laptops' network cards?

Use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) built into win2k and XP.

I JUST caught onto that as well, ICS. Problem is, I need a hub, don't I?

How would I get the two laptops in the same LAN without a hub?

If both have wireless cards, you can do an ad hoc wireless network between them.

Windows has a wizard for that, I think.

Alternatively, a crossover cable between the two NICs would work, too.

Set Laptop B to share its internet through the wireless card. This will create a wireless network that Laptop A can connect to.
