my motherboard is a DS3P w/ Realtek ALC889 audio
my case is LLV1000 using their stock headphone panel connector to the motherboard
my headphones are Senn HD555

my problem is:
1) there is static coming from my headphones when they are connected to the front audio headphone port of my case. The headphones have been tested elsewhere and they are fine with no static.
even when i mute my windows sound, i still hear this feedback/static from my headphones.
this sound does not come out of my speakers (or headphones) that would be connected to the rear motherboard line out, only the front panel.

2) How can i mute my speakers when i have headphones plugged into the front panel?

What can i do to fix this? any ideas guys?

1) Where is the calbe from the motherboard to the front audio connectors currently running?

2) plugging in the headphones should automatically bypass the rear audio connectors.
