one of my OC'ed P3 700e machines has been running bad lately, I've had it at stock speed and it's been crashy
So I took it apart today and found the heatsink had somehow gone off center and wasn't on the core exactly flat.
Fixed it and boom, right back to 933 rock stable.
Then I thought, hey this is great - I wonder if it will go higher?]
I boosted it up to 1008 mhz and it gave me the dreaded "registry error, restoring from some dumbass old copy" error.
I dropped it back to 933mhz and then started reinstalling stuff. It's running great, doing a SETI WU every 6 hours.
Moral of the story, if it's fritzy check the heatsink.
