I had a few errors in my posting with the FSB,been fixed.I know I should be doing this slower and running some tests.but oh well:).At 2916MHZ is all she's got at default.Bumping up to 1.550V.

Its starting to want lots of voltage.I should get 3ghz but I am not so sure I will have it stable there unless I go over or around 1.75V.ChampionAtTufshop,thats your ram in there..LOL

NIce chip lastride!!!!! 3ghz is a lock with 1.65v limit....

Now if those GB boards would start dropping in price a dual channel pc2700 or pc3000 could do very nice with a 166fsb system...

It wouldn't make it Duvie on 1.65V.I have the latest bios 1108 and with Thugs recommendation I will try back to 1008 Bios.I'll go one more voltage boost for testing.

So then at 2987 the 1.625v is bios set and so with overvolting it will be just at 1.7v...still acceptable...666fsb system bus is very nice and what the heck just round up and say it is 3ghz anyways!!!;)

cant really complain about 166fsb :D

3:4 mem ratio is gonna keep you in the 163-167fsb range anyways

It made it in to windows at 216mhz 432DDR at 162FSB.Thats really not to bad at all:).I can't complain at all with my chip.Yeah thugs, looks like 162-163 is all I can get at 3:4.Am I better to go with 3:4 at 162-163FSB or 166fsb with 1:1?.By the looks of it maybe 3:4 is the way to go and scrap the couple FSB"s if I am not mistaken.

bingo :D
couple fsb is not work the loss of all that ram bandwidth imo

I made it in at 217mhz 434DDR at 3:4 I never raised memory voltage.I am not sure according to thugs that it doesn't help anything above 2.6 with the corsair.

I agree when we are talking about 3-4 fsb...However make sure you memtest that stuff...I could boot into and pass prime all the way up to 442mhz ddr yet I dealt with some reboot issues and ultimately only 426mhz ddr was in fact stable....

So for me....

I had 166fsb with 442mhz ddr but not stable....memory limiting...run prime but had issues rebooting!!!

I had to drop back to 160fsb with 426mhz ddr to get stable and that was with cas 2.5,3,3,7...

However with vcore left I was able to run up to 171fsb but had to go with 1:1 ratio and ultimately 342mhz ddr cas 2,2,2,6....

I tested it and found that the system at 170fsb with 1:1 cas 2 memory performed equally to the system with 164fsb with 438mhz ddr....So it was a no brainer for me and the 160fsb...

In some apps the 171fsb with cas memory was better then the 166fsb with 442mhz ddr...My speculation was the programs I was running are not memory bandwidth intensive but cpu intensive. gamers may find that 8 fsb may be the spread...

go ahead and try the voltage after youve M86ed it.
that way you will know for sure weather its doing anything or not.
in my experience vdimm never got me anything when in 3:4 on the p4b533.

(1:1 is a different story tho) ;)

It worked for me, back when I was running a 3:4 mem ratio:).

I tried 2.9Vdimm at 1.7V to see if it would get me 170fsb at 1:1 and got a corrupted or damaged file on bootup.I'll run memtest to see if it helps on memory errors with default and extra vdimm..

Let us know how the MemTest goes:). If you're applying 1.7Vcore then it looks as though you may be about at the limit of the cpu, so I'm curious to see if it's your mem or not;).
