It seems our psychological preparation program for combat (COD and BF games) isn't working as hoped...
According to some quick Googling, veterans make up 5% of those that committed suicide in the USA in total, yet 12% of the American population are veterans. Additionally, it appears that the majority of veterans currently alive are old and served when the draft was still in effect; how many of these are also elderly and possibly committing suicide for reasons completely unrelated to their service?
EDIT: Although the year isn't half over, so partially-nvm on that point.
It's a huge issue with more than half of the 2.6 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan still struggling with physical or mental health problems many of which know a fellow service member who has attempted or committed suicide, Washington Post reports.
