Honestly, gas being at 2/gal or 3/gal amounts to roughtly 5 to 7 dollars difference between fill-ups. Hardly lifestyle threatening. It was mildly entertaining to listen to all the people with gas guzzling 4x4 trucks and SUVs complain though.
I wonder if there isn't a positive effect of high gas prices. High gas prices mean people pass on buying vehicles with poor gas mileage, public transportation seems to get more use, people bike or walk more often, more effort goes into researching alternative fuel sources, etc.
Notice how most car commercials brag about their efficient gas mileage. I particularly love the sports car and truck ads that tout their efficiency with a 20 mpg highway rating. Thats not exactly efficient, double that and I'll start being impressed.

I've been working in Branson lately, and have been paying $2.08 to $2.14 on my way there... I'll take that highway tomorrow morning and see if it's really $1.85![]()

the big oil companies control the price, everybody knows this. go review all the gas threads from july when gas hit $3.20 per gallon. all the proof you need is in those threads that gas prices are controlled by big oil and they want to gouge us
There is no proof of that whatsoever because it simply has nothing to do with reality.

nice, are you getting 5% gas rebates on citi/chase cards? Just out of curiosity, how long does that last you?

I don't like Credit Cards.
They sucker you into hidden fees and raise the rates for no good reason.
Depends on how much I run the generator mostly.
I don't open the twin 255's that much except if skiing
