2.17 is the lowest here with the average price around 2.22.

Of course, both my car and bike require premium... so I'm fscked anyhow.

I filled up for 2.39 last night.

Honestly, gas being at 2/gal or 3/gal amounts to roughtly 5 to 7 dollars difference between fill-ups. Hardly lifestyle threatening. It was mildly entertaining to listen to all the people with gas guzzling 4x4 trucks and SUVs complain though.

I wonder if there isn't a positive effect of high gas prices. High gas prices mean people pass on buying vehicles with poor gas mileage, public transportation seems to get more use, people bike or walk more often, more effort goes into researching alternative fuel sources, etc.

Notice how most car commercials brag about their efficient gas mileage. I particularly love the sports car and truck ads that tout their efficiency with a 20 mpg highway rating. Thats not exactly efficient, double that and I'll start being impressed.

I've been working in Branson lately, and have been paying $2.08 to $2.14 on my way there... I'll take that highway tomorrow morning and see if it's really $1.85 :)

There is no proof of that whatsoever because it simply has nothing to do with reality.

Only cost me $502 today to fill my boat. Gas at the dock dropped to $2.79 was $3.09

nice, are you getting 5% gas rebates on citi/chase cards? Just out of curiosity, how long does that last you?

I don't like Credit Cards.

They sucker you into hidden fees and raise the rates for no good reason.

Depends on how much I run the generator mostly.

I don't open the twin 255's that much except if skiing

Don't forget to fill up all your lawnmowers, boats, four wheelers, and gas cans now, while it's cheap. For that matter, take a vacation for a road trip if you have the vacation days. Don't forget to get the oil changed in your car, that should be cheaper now too (but probably isn't).

Sell your SUV now while gas is cheap, it'll be much easier than when gas is expensive.

I'm calling 2.19 cheap, when it suddenly jumped straight there from 1.30 a few years ago.

Commercials that even mention mpg when it's less than thirty are quite laughable.

Maybe I'm slow at math or something, but how are you figuring only 5 to 7 dollars difference vs 2/gallon compared to 3/gallon?

My gas tank is 14.5 gallons.

$2/gallon = $29
$3/gallon = $43.50

A difference of $14.50; not exactly pocket change. BTW, I fill up when my engine computer says I have 0 miles left or when the low fuel light comes on (usually at around 25 miles left in the tank) if I'm in unfamiliar territory.

The difference would be $19.40 in my dad's '03 Nissan Frontier and $19.80 for his '01 Highlander Limited V6. My dad commutes a considerable distance to work and fills up maybe twice a week. A $40 weekly hit in either vehicle is a big hit IMHO.

For my roomates, the difference would be:

'96 Ford Taurus = $16
'04 Toyota Tacoma = $18.50
'04 Chevy Trailblazer EXT = $25.00
