Very recently I inherited a HP 2915 nr laptop.

With a 1.83 Intel Centrino Processor Technology featuring Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5550
processor.

Which seems to run perfectly.

But my one concern seems to be a idle reported temperature of 55-57 C for CPU temperatures.

I have yet to load prime95 to test load temps, but I am wondering what safe load temps are for that processor.

And if anyone is familiar with the HP 2915nr, can I drop v-core from the 1.18 volts its now running at?

Any advice appreciated.

55-57 seems a little high, but isn't completely unreasonable.

Check and see what the load temps are and report back. If they are much above 70C then I would definitely recommend checking to make sure that the fans and heatsinks are clear.
