Hi, I'm sure this is an easy question for all you o'clocker's.

I just went to http://www.hardocp.com/reviews/cpus/intel/p416a/ for a review and noticed in the WCPUID window there are a few frequencies listed.
I also thought of the Clock Speed being the FSB. And I know that the multiplier (16) times the Clock speed = 2184 Mhz.

What the heck is the System Bus (546 Mhz, in this case) What does QDR mean ? Is this number adjustable ?

Thanks
Gord

The Pentium 4 makes 4 transfers per clock cycle, for what is known as a Quad Data Rate System bus.

The FSB is nominally 100MHz, resulting in a system bus of 400MHz equivalent performance.

In the HOCP review, they used an FSB of 136 to obtain a system bus speed of 546.

The 4x multiplier for the Pentium 4 is not adjustable.
