1.6A or 1.8A ?

Hi!

I'm rather confused, going for a 1.6A or 1.8A.
The price for the is almost the same (here in Sweden) so that we can ignore.
Whats your feeling in this case?

Going for an Epox EP-4G4A+ and one 512MB pc2700 Samsung module.

Thanks!

dependent factors...

1) memory ratios offered on board

If the boad only offers 1:1 ratio after 132fsb then there is no real point of getting a 1.6 as you will likely never get to 333mhz ddr then. In this case go for the 1.8 or even 2.0aghz chip since 132fsb should be what you shoot for. Also get a mobo that locks agp/pci. It is a muct as 132fsb will be running 88/44 for agp/pci versus spec 66/33...Very dangerous to components and could be a limiting factor in ocing...

If the board offers 3:4 or 4:5 after 133fsb get the 1.6 as the performance will really enjoy the combination of higher oc and 333-400mhz ddr....Still only get a board that locks agp/pci. I wouldn't look at one if it didn't. All asus boards with turbo 1 & 2 are good as well as the epox boards I have seen...

I would personally go for the 1.8A because the process is fairly refined and the 1.6A's will be discontinued.

I'd say go for a 1.6A while you can. Got one a couple of days ago and with stock hsf I can run 2608Mhz, might do more once I get some more case fans (space for another 80mm back and a 120mm front) as my case temp is 38c right now
