Went down to one drive, disabled EVERYTHING. Got much better performance (don't see the point of posting scores cause I can't leave my computer like this...), but only a slight bit more overclocking headroom. I say my board isn't what's limiting me, it's the cpu (we'll find out when my new one gets here. hopefully). Probably won't set the raid back up, I didn't see any performance difference one way or the other. I have to have the usb, though, my modem is usb. :)

Mikki alot of ppl are very interested in the USB performance when overclocking this board. (info i cant provide)

if you have any comments, tweeks, or tips, im sure theyd like to hear them.

did USB effect your overclock?

Yes enabling usb did affect my scores. As far as the others (raid and audio), disabling all of it gave me an 800 point boost in 3DMark @ 133fsb alone. Obviously, usb was a part of that. If you want more examples, gimme a couple hours (I gotta go run some errands...), and I'll run some more benches if you want me to.

i don't know if this matter...but i know USB uses a lot of system resources...so it would make sense that it affect overclocking abilities

I have spent the last week in the exact same adventure as yourself! So far, with my 1.6A I have not been able to POST at 158FSB. This is kinda weird because I can boot up through WinXP and everything at 157 with no problems whatsoever but cannot even POST BIOS at 158 no matter how much I raise the voltage. I'm going to try going back to one stick of memory as well and see if that affects things. We need to compile a really well written resource documenting everything discovered on this matter. I have been following Thugsrook's posts as well. I think my cpu can still oc a bit more because it seems like rather than reaching a limit of the cpu, some setting is causing the system to freak out and it's just not booting (memory issues?).

MY SYSTEM:

P4 1.6A Costa Rica @ 2512 MHZ
Asus P4B533-E
Volcano 7+ with ASIII
(2) Samsung DDR333
Chaintech G4 Ti4200 "GT21" Special Edition 128MB @ 325/615

3DMARK: 11,820 @ 2464MHZ 1024x768x32 default settings

whiteboyatcal did you set D3D quality to best performance?
325 core...that is better than my ti4400...it can barely do 315...

That's my next venture, working on the video card. Haven't done anything with it whatsoeveer. Hence the crappy 3D scores.....

D3D set at the middle setting (tradeoff between performance and graphic quality). AGP bus is at 70.xx
I haven't disabled the USB or removed one of the memory sticks yet. I still need to update to the newest leaked Det's and install the 3DMark patch. The card has unmodified cooling and is running at default voltage. Besides D3D, everything else is left untweaked. You can do a project compare here:

What other high-ish overclocks have people gotten with a Ti4200?

Mikki ~ now that you have found the USB modem problem - do you still have the "2 stick" blues?

Still waiting on my 512 stick, it takes forever for me to get stuff! I'll run more before/after tests when I get it. :)
