New processor, new tests. As before, my goal is a Prime 95 stable 1GHz overclock with everything enabled. Let's see how this one works out.
GOAL ACHIEVED!! :)
163fsb results are under a slightly different config. I have more programs installed, I'm using a raid setup, and I'm running benches once only instead of the average of five.

Updated scores for 150fsb. This chip is a winner compared to my first one, 150fsb and still on default voltage!

Temps are in the post under voltage/temp. Haven't gone over 32c idle yet! :)

Sorry everyone, I was out all day yesterday. Yeah, my chip is a neweggy. 155fsb got Prime95's all day yesterday, still at default voltage and 32c!! Yep, this is fun...:)

Scores on the way.....

160fsb scores updated, and so ends the default voltage. I messed with mem timings, voltage and fsb/mem ratio, but v-core's the only thing that helped. 160fsb was totally usable at 1.56v, didn't have any hiccups but it doesn't count cause Prime95 failed. I don't really care cause I'm extremely pleased with the results so far. :D

Couple notes: went over 100fps in Jedi, that's kinda cool. And my media score's rockin. The most interesting thing is my idle temp--->STILL at 32c!! :). I would've bet it would jump a degree or two with the voltage increase but there ya go.

On to 166fsb.....

Boy is 166fsb giving me some grief. I hit the reset switch for the first time at one point and was never able to get Windows up after that! Well, a reformat later and it's all up and running with no hiccups, but Prime95 fails as high as 1.675v-core, so I'm gonna have to work for this. Seems kinda funny that I went all the way up to 160fsb before I had to up voltage. That's kinda cool though cause I can run it at 155fsb and get nearly a full life outta my chip. I do like a challenge.....:)

Wow...good job...I have seen it take .065 v to get 6more fsb!!!....

Is that 1.675v in bios meaning 1.735 actual???

my 1.6@166fsb took only 1.66v
my 1.6@169fsb takes 1.68v
my 1.6@171fsb needed 1.171
my 1.6@172fsb needs 1.73v
my 1.6@173fsb wont work w/ 1.75v....that's it DONE!!!!!

I like the 1.71v max.....

See 7fsb and .09v couldn't do it....You are likely pretty close to the end....If you go 1.7v max you may get that 166fsb...

Memory at ratio 1:1, 2.7v, and lowest timings???

Hiya Duvie, yeah that 1.675 was the bios setting, and I agree with you, I just don't like going over 1.71v actual. I haven't had a chance to mess with this over the last day, and probably won't get to mess with it until tomorrow. I have tried the memory settings and the ratio, but I've got some other stuff I'm gonna try. You're right, tho, I'm getting near the end. Funny how you go so far on low voltage and then it takes major voltage jumps to get those extra few mhz....:).

At some point I'll set the v-core to 1.7v just to see exactly how high I can get it, but only temporarily. Right now, at 1.71v actual, it's still only 35c idle with stock hsf. Kudos to Intel...

Had another major crash tonight, took me forever to get things up and running again. That and the fact that for a month or so I've done hardly anything but experiment, test and tweak and I've got a bunch of catching up to do with my normal projests, I'm calling it a day. Tomorrow I'm gonna set my raid back up, set my system back to normal, Prime95 160fsb one more time, and get back to work. This is only temporary, but for now I'm extremely happy with my system. This cpu rocks, nearly a gig overclock at 1.61v-core (2480 at default v-core!), and I've proven that the P4B533-E board is an excellent overclocking board. I'm gonna work on my video card, but that's a different post.

One gig overclock achieved! Woohoo! In troubleshooting another problem, I realized I had a bit more overclock room, so here I am at 163fsb stable, 1.69v, 434ddr, 34c. My scores are not gonna jell with the curve because my config is slightly different, and I'm not redoing the benches right now. :)

looks great...
but did you notice the slow down in hd benchie when you are at 163fsb...i don't think your controller or hds like it very much at that speed

Only if we can post graphs here??? :)

If you use RAID ~ the PCmark HD scores are from your "spare IDE drive" if you have one hooked up.

PCmark will usually NOT test your bootable RAID array :Q

...and PCmark sux anyways :p (you knew that was comin) ;)

Yeah, my backup drive is a WD 80g 7200 2mb buffer drive, and I agree--->PCMark sux!!:frown:

I'm getting rid of the raid setup, it's worthless, I don't do enough of the stuff that it would be good for. It's worthless for everyday computing, I've already proved that...maybe if I bought a couple more drives for my array....hmmmm ;)

SupermanCK, thanks for the kudos, and boy would graphs be useful! Should we talk to the AT guys? hehe :)

Updated my latest 3DMark score, I've got my Ti4400 core speed upped to 295, looks very stable, haven't touched the memory yet. That's all for tonight....;)

haha...
what if you don't have a spare ide hooked up?
cause what i notice on my raid set up is that i get pretty consistent score...gradual increases...
oh yeah...and my raid setup scores are much higher than yours Mikki...:)

I'll run some tests without a backup drive and see...:)
I don't know what to say about our scores, I have a WD 80gSE, which is about the fastest ide drive out there, maybe my setup is jacked...I'll take any suggestions you're willing to give...;)

Glad to see the new chip work out for ya compared to your first one.I just got a a WD 80gig 8mb cache hard drive too and some corsair pc3200 ver 2.1 I'm hoping my new HD likes the overclocks cause I had some major problems with my POS IBM deskstar and my Samsung ram on OEM PCB was no better:p.My chips not a winner but I'm doing better with my newly added components compared to my other setup.I am in the process of testing. So far I got a few extra FSB's with my new setup.I do need a better chip though cause this one takes major voltage to get anywhere and as Thugs would say!,1.6@2.4 is considered a dud..LOL:)

my RAID array would not post a score in PCmark.
my typical scores on a single drive ranged from 1200 upto 4500 :Q

in sandra im getting 32000 on a single WD800JB SE. (parted)
my RAID was only giving me 37000. (2 maxtors)

:)
