Its the latest BE7 bios from Abit...as far as i know they do one bios for BE7 and BE7r.If this is correct then yes your raid will still function.

At default the bios tries to set cas1.5 at boot.i have altered this so at boot the bios sets cas2.5 with setup then applying your changes from cmos.this is what i changed to help mikki with his cold boot problem.

wow... it never occured to me the cold boot issue can be something so obsurd. Maybe you can sell the bios to abit and make a few dollars 😀.

So this is applicable to the P4PE as well then??? 😕

maybe this is why sandra always reads i845PE boards as cas 1.5-3-3-7!

im sure intel asus and abit will deny it tho....

It's a pretty good bet...but as far as I know you can't hack Asus bios'...don't know bout the others tho...🙂

Perhaps that would explain the improved memory bandwidth with the 845PE???

Thanx for the reply Mikki 🙂 It's a non-issue for me as I've stated nth times mine are cruchin' 24/7 😎

cas1.5 isn't really an option...it alters timings in the chipset more than the ram i believe and you will only see a small diference with cas2 usually being faster.Thing is it seems to cause cold boot problems and setting bios default to 2.5 usually cures it.I have the same problem with the 8INXP but gigabyte have put a lock on modbin working properly with their bios files so i have requested the mods dome over at Binary's site on his forum.

Asus bios's are very hard to mod but not impossible. There is a bios editor in the works that will make editing these bios files very easy...we just have to waut till its finished.

I'm typing this at 172fsb, but can't run benchies so I'm about maxed out. I ran a full set of benchies at 171fsb...🙂

My guess is it'll test stable at 168fsb, I already know my memory maxes out at 169fsb...😉

Gonna see what's up with that 166fsb drop off...

The 166fsb thing musta been a fluke, I musta had a setting wrong or something...retested, scores look good--posted. 😀

Unless someone really wants to see this stress tested, I'm gonna go ahead and swap the 1.6a for the 1.7m and retest...😉
