I know that the 875P chipset does not officially support 400Mhz-bus processors, but will this mobo refuse to work at all if a 1.6 Northie is installed or can it be made to work anyway? My 1.6 Northie has been running with a 533Mhz bus speed for the past 2 years overclocked, so I know it will work at the minimum supported 875P speed. But will the mobo refuse to boot up and complain with the 1.6 installed?

ASUS says it supports 400Mhz bus processors. I think only the Intel boards adhered to the rule.

Ah, thanks. I checked the ASUS website and it does indeed say that 400Mhz bus speed is supported. I will probably get a 2.8C Northwood and attempt to overclock it to 3.2 - 3.5 Ghz. In the meantime, I would like to see what my 1.6A is capable of reaching - it maxes out right now at about 2.16Ghz (135Mhz FSB) but I think that the limiting factor is the Northbridge on my current 845-chipset motherboard.
