1.6 ghz Atom = ? Pentium M

In terms of raw performance, yes. I believe the Atom wins in terms of performance per watt and production costs though.
 
I'm pretty sure almost ANYTHING smacks around an Atom 1.6GHz. The Diamondville at 1.6GHz is only slightly faster than the Celeron M 900MHz. I have an 800MHz Intel A110 and the 1.6GHz Atom is only about 20% faster in Super Pi, if that.

It definitely wins in production costs. I don't think it wins in performance/watt though. Atoms definitely run on lean power requirements, but at the cost of a lot of performance.
