So I bought one of these to use in a friends FM1 system.
That did not work; it took too long for Win 7 to install and after it did; it was very very slow. It was also horribly clicking the whole time. AHCI was used in the BIOS.
The Win 7 install only lets you perform a quick format (I think).
I had to get a 500GB WD Green to get the computer functional.
I hook the Seagate up to a SATA to USB external adapter and start running the diagnosis yesterday morning.
It passed all the Seagate utility tests and is now, slowly, getting a full format through Win 7.
It has gotten mixed reviews, but it is working fine now, very strange IMHO.
The only thing different now is that it was mounted vertically in the FM1 system, and is now laying horizontally. But this does not make sense, as drives can be mounted vertically.
Anyone else experience something like this?
