1.5 Vcore for 3.2 GHZ for a RO Q9400? 1.4 for 2.66ghz stock?

It's very strange, I just upgraded to a Quad-Core Q9400 in my P5N-E SLI mobo and updated my bios to 1403.

I've tweaked all the settings perfectly, it all comes down to Vcore. It WILL NOT load windows at stock volts, and only becomes stable at 1.4vcore @ 2.66 What's really weird is that it boots up to 3.5ghz at the maximum my mobo will allow 1.6vcore but the temps never jump above 40c idle and 55 load. And it's 38 idle, 50 load at 1.4 volts. Some say my mobo doesn't support quads but I get perfect performance at 2.66ghz with 1.4 vcore in bios. GTA IV is a dream now, no hiccups.

People are reporting great success with Quad-Core for my mobo with the recent bios, so does the board need to throw out excess juice to power the quads or is my chip a dud? Do the temps make sense with those settings and I only use a Zalman9500 air-cooler?

It's RO with a 04/01/2009 pack date. Is that April 1st or January 4th?

Ok #1 1.5v is going to kill your chip. Do be careful!
What voltage do you have in CPU-z when loading it with all 4 cores @ 100%?

Cpu-z read 1.6volts at 2.66Ghz stock but all temp reading never go above 40 during idle or normal tasks.

There's no way 1.5 or 1.6 being thrown out with the corresponding temps. Either way the chip is not receiving what the bios says because it's not even hot to the touch like it should be at that level.

Everest reports 1.58 volts @ 3.2ghz

temps 38~41c, this doesn't make sense, I should be hitting 3.6~3.8ghz with those volts and 45+ idle temps

OMG you are going to kill that chip I dont care if you are running dry ice thats way to damn high for anything more then a suicide run for bragging rights.
it may even explode I would back that down asap!!
Unless you are wrong where that decimal goes and its more like 1.15v then your fine but if its really 1.5-1.6v you going to get hurt by flying shrapnel LOL.
