I guess this means it will be out soon. Here's the link to the merchant's page. link Anyone know anything about their reputation?

They're the only person on Pricewatch who lists it, and the 1 GHz and 1.2 GHz chips JUST came out,so it might be a mistake. I'd check with them to make sure that it's accurate before you place an order.

If it's a true 1.4 GHz Palamino, they got the jump on it, for sure.

So it's a Thunderbird Palomino? I really doubt they have that in stock, probably just there to attract customers...

Seriously.... Everytime I see a link to these guys I wonder if they're real.

.18 Thunderbird Palomino?!!??! What the hell is that. Geez!

But look.... They have blue annodized shims on the same page. It's a joke, right?

I just spoke to Lynn computers in Florida today, and they said the 1ghz and 1.2ghz MP's will not be in stock anywhere until late June, early July at the latest. The 1.4ghz MP's will not be available until late July, early August. He said there have been some delays in the shipments from AMD, and I suspect that either the demand is very high, or the early yields are lower than expected, or a combination of the two. I am going to pick up a 1.2ghz MP and it should do 1.4ghz pretty easily...anymore would just be bonus speed...🙂

It's low yields. 1.0 and 1.2s have been out for some time. I actually have a couple from week 9 2001. But that shouldn't be misunderstood as "widely available" and certainly doesn't mean that a 1.4 is "a click away".

Ummm...I think you are getting confused with the regular Thunderbirds. I am talkin about the Palamino/MP CPU's, they just appeared on Pricewatch and are not available in the retail channel yet. These are the Palamino cores, not regular Thunderbird cores. The MP denotes it is meant for the 760MP server boards that have also just been released.

No... I'm not thinking about Thunderbirds. I'm thinking about Palominos. I have two week 9 Palomino 1.2 GHz. Week 9. That's older than the 1 GHz Thunderbird I've had for two months!

It does run cooler than a Thunderbird, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't have rounded edges like all of the "promo" photos.

They run perfectly fine in "non-MP" boards (got mine running in Biostar M7MIAs) and the reason why they are getting the "MP" designation from AMD is because if you were to put two T-Birds in an SMP board, you'd generate so much heat that the damn board would melt!!! :Q
