need some advise:

ive got a 1.4 tbird on a crummy kt266 board
temps right now ~40C idle, usually <50C full load
using an old aluminum vantec with a 7k 60 mm fan

what temp increases can i expect to see when upping the fsb in the range 133 to 166mhz? or should i just leave it alone as the temps are already high enough?
dont wanna torch my cpu quite yet

personally...IMO just fsb increases usually make small heat increases...in my experience with my 1.4 I was able to boost it to 1.5ghz and only increase idle temp by 1c and full load by 3c....it will be mostly any vcore adjustments you may have to make to make it stable that will really raise temps....get an 80mm fan in the for/sale forum from the one of many converting to p4 northwood systems and it may give you the room to boost it a bit.

Don't expect too much from the 1.4tbird...maybe 1.6max aircooled....

thanks,
i dont think i want to spend any more $ but if youre saing you got an increase of only 1-3C i think i can live with that. my vcore is at about 1.76 -> 1.78 (dont know why its goes this high when i set it to default), correct me if im wrong, but that may be enough to support a stable 1.5 mhz. if my math is correct thats a 9-10mhz raise of fsb, i hope my agp, pci, hd wont complain too much at a slight increase (cant lock em down except at 166 - crappy mobo).
