i have a problem.
i recently purchased a 1.4 TB and a Golden Socket for my Asus A7M.
i set the Golden Sockets' dip switch to the 10.5 setting (default for 1400 @ 266) and installed it yesterday. the system started fine but it give me a CPU reading of 1333 at post and continued to boot to windows without problems.
i check WCPUID and MBM 5 in windoze and both give me the correct CPU speed of 1400MHz.
WCPUID info:

Internal Clock:1400
System Bus: 133
System Clock: 133
Multiplier: 10.5

i rebooted and accessed the BIOS and the info read as it should- multiplier @ 10.5, System bus @ 133. rebooted, and still the same incorrect speed at post, and agian check WCPUID and MBM 5 in Windoze and they both report 1400. ran 3DMarks2001 pro demo loop for 30 minutes and no crashes.
i'm using bios 1.003 (my rig is Super stable that i didn't feel that updating was needed- but now i might have too) and the board is revision 1004. loaded with win 98SE.
btw- prior to installing the 1.4 TB and the Golden Socket yesterday, i had a 1333 TB in there.
i'm stumped.
any insight to my small problem would be appreciated.

Perhaps (and I am just guessing here) the maximum CPU speed supported by that BIOS is 1333Mhz. WCPUID and MBM5 will no doubt be correct. In which case I newer BIOS will probably add "BIOS" support for the 1400Mhz chip.

that's what my thinking was at first, but when i had my 1333 TB in there i would O/C the FSB to 153 and the bios would report the correct speed at 1530.
