1.4 Ghz Athlon. Should I buy?

Should I get this, and if so, whats a good MOBO for it. and ram wise what should I use, whats essential if I get this CPU> right now I have a 700 athlon on a FIC Sd11 board, w/ 3 dimms, putting out 384ram. I want more speed tho, would I need to buy all new ram. There all Pc 100 i think. Thanks, let me know pls.

well if you want to go DDR the MSI k7master is a nice board, and the epox 8k7a is pretty hot right now, check out the reviews....

man all of it is cheap now...crucial ddr is down to 45 bucks...the non raid version of the epox is like 125 and i think you can get that 1.4 for like 179.00....adn you'll definately get a boost doing all that

and dont do the msi k7...i read there was issues with the 1.4ghz tbird...sawa link to a b*tch session about it earlier today

I agree with the others - you're looking at a new CPU, Mobo, and RAM at minimum.

RAM & CPU's are dirt cheap right now - I guess the only real decision is which Mobo you want to go with. :)

Well personally, I'd get the 1.2GHz T-Bird, it's the sweet spot right now at $99 (266fsb) while the 1.4 is $160 (266fsb), the 1.33 is a bit better at $124, but I'd say get the 1.2GHz and yeah K7 Master for the non-ocer or Epox 8k7a for the overclocker.
