I had a computer turn itself on...now that was worrysome. I pulled the power cord and it hasn't happened since, though.

Your remote doesn't work? If it's because of low batteries, they might cause something like that.

Dog sat on remote long enough for it to kick in?

It is broke......only the power button on it is. And the button on the tv is broke, to turn it on you have to shove a pen up there.

you answered your own question... Same problem with my tv... button is broken. It's hard to get it to turn off, and sometimes after turning it off, it'll decide to turn itself back on.

Also, many tv's DO have a timer to turn them on.. My television in my bedroom serves as alarm clock #2. I hit snooze on the regular clock, and a minute later, the weather comes on for me to listen to as I try to sneak in 10 more minutes of sleep.

But, to be honest with you.... it was me on the deck with my universal remote.. I was going to bribe the dog with a bone not to bark, but the door was locked. I'll bring my universal lockpick next time.

You've been recording shows and skipping the commercials, that's stealling according to the TV bigwigs, so your TV decided it better show you some.
