I've decided on the Corsair Vengeance low profile ram but wanted to know if 1.35V is ok, or if I should get the 1.5V ones?

The white version of the ram is 1.35V where the black version and blue versions are 1.5V.

CPU and Mobo:
i7-2700K
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B

Will this ram run well in my setup or should I just get the 1.5V? I'd think 1.35 would be better? or is 1.5V better with the sandy bridge setups?

Doesn't matter, either will work just fine.

I just like the white color but don't have to have it if the system would run better at 1.5V.
Is 1.5V better with the SB chip?

1.5v is spec for SB's and 1.35v for IB's if I remember correctly. Would have.to Google it for comformation. If so and plan to go IB later might be worth the plunge now.

The offical work is with the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors they support DDR 3 at 1.5v ±5%. Also most RAM will have multi profiles designed in to them so you should be able to run at 1.5v if you want. In the end you shouldnt have any real problem at the 1.35v it is the overvoltage that seems to cause the problems.

Thanks everyone. I decided to go with the Black 1.5V Corsair to be safe and in the most ideal profile.

Money well spent! I think 1.5v is the safe way to go...

Let me know how it fits under the 212+ fan, if you would...

I figured I'd go the safer route. Man I remember the time I bought a 256MB or 512MB Kingston Hyper X (As a top notch overclocking chip) when I was in college I almost went broke buying it. Now 16GB for under $100, crazy.

I'll def let you know how it fits. I went with the low profile specifically for the hyper 212+ and I'm guessing it will clear, but i'll update once I assemble it all this weekend.

Does anyone know if 1.5v RAM will be safe for IVB?

I have 1.35v Mushkin 1600 in my 2600k system, and they run just fine. Completely stable, and the system picked up the 1.35v and set the voltage automatically.

Im running my kingston hyperx genesis at 1.65v with my i5 2500k. I think I'm at the limit, but my mobo set the voltages automatically, and those are the correct values for this sticks according the manufacturer, so you should be fine.

Most of what I've seen is that as long as your RAM voltage is within 0.5V of your VCCIO (I/O voltage for the on-die memory controller), you are good. So for example, if you go up to 1.65V on RAM, you should also boost VCCIO to 1.15V.

Vdimm spec for SBs , as stated by the Intel rep, is 1.5V +/-0.5%, which is 1.575V max. Since the memory controller is now integrated with the CPU on SBs it's a bit more important to try and keep it at or below max vdimm.
My ram is speced at 1.60V but runs fine at 1.575V @1600.
