I have the computer in minimum bootable condition with the case sealed. Will this temp cause stablity problems. If so how do I correct the problem?

Don't know if it's high enough to cause problems, but no way should it be that high. Is this idle or under load? My 1.3 is running with the generic heatsink and is at 39c idle and 43-46c under load. You should definitely take action.

I have a 1.33 GHz Athlon that was running around 52C in a small mid tower case. It was around 56C under load. This was not good and not stable if over clocked. I just moved everything to a Lian-Li PC60 case and it now runs at 43C idle and 46C under load. The problem was the ventilation in the case and the fact that the power supply was blocking the heat sink fan.

what mobo are you using it on? Recently my 1.2GHz @ 1.47GHz Tbird has been getting around 47 deg C idle on my Asus A7V133. Anyone have similarly high temps

My MB is a Asus A7A266. Heatsink is a Coolermaster with the thermal pad. Case is a mid-tower with the AMD recomended PS and fan placement. I am not happy with these temps as the rig will be used for hardcore gaming.help!

I have a t-bird 1.33 axia and i can't play any games at 1.33. Once i start the game is crashes or i get a unhadled exception error. I to have the Asus A7A266 with coolermaster ep5-6I11-A1 hsf. I'm running at 1 ghz right and everything is fine but once i go back to 1.33 it craps the bed. My temps at 1.33 are around the mid fifties. Which seems kinda high. I Just bought a new thermoengine hsf with the Delta/38CFM. So I hope my problems will end as my temps are hopefully lowered

dang...what kind of you cooling do you have...you should try to get the temp down into the high's 30's and low 40's full load. But ya...invest in some cooling. Case might help...but the best thing to do is to get a HSF first.

LongTimePCUser, what kind of cooling do you have in your system? I just upgraded to a Lian-Li PC-60 case, but with my Athlon 1.333GHz CPU, my full load temperatures are still around 55C. I replaced the stock fans in the case with some Sunon KD1208PTB1-6 fans (39.5CFM or 42.5CFM), and am using a Taisol CGK760092 heat sink with a YS Tech FD1260257B-2A fan (26CFM). My motherboard temperature is reported around 30-31C with an ambient room temperature of 25C.

I have the same setup as yours, exactly the same. ;) my idle cpu temp's around 36-38c depend on ambient temp. 50c at idle is definitely too high...maybe it's b/c your case. Do u have enough case ventilation moving the hot case air outside?

To see your temp, grab the Motherboard Monitor 5. Just do a search on it, and u'll find it no problem. To test it underload, run soemthing heavy like Quake3, or SETI, RC5, etc. I reach around 42c under fullload....so I think Volcano2's doing a fair job.

I am having the same temp probs with a 1.33 gig K7 Tbird running with the retail coolermaster HS/F.

I have it installed with an Asus A7V133 in an Antex SX-830 with all four fans populated (bottom two sucking air in top two pushing air out). All cables routed to sides of case for good airflow. Room temp is about 25-28C. System idles at 30C (mobo) with a temp of 55C on the processor (AT IDLE!!!). Under load the processor has hit mid 60's and has random lockups. I have removed and re-installed the HS/F and used Arctic Silver.

This is really frustrating. I even tried lowering the core voltage to 1.70V to get the temps down a little. It runs at this voltage but sometimes won't comeback from a reset so I'm back at 1.75V.

I have ordered an OCZ Gladiator which will be here on Wednesday. I am hoping it gets the temps down a good 10-15C. I am going to be pissed if this thing can't run at it's rated speed without locking up at full load. :| :| :|

Also, where you live has some to do with it. I live in texas and our house stays in the 80s during the day. My computer is also near windows. Temps rise up to 55c under full load and 48 at night when the house is cool. If it is under 65C its okay, but i wouldnt want to go that high. Amd says the absolute highest is 95C

i have a 1ghz@1.11ghz and my temp used to be 48-54, hehe, i made a little mod. i bought the delta fan and attached it to my current hs and now its at 41-43, air is the most important way to cool, openning the case with drop mines even more.

When you get case fans, its not how many you have, but how well does the air circulate in the case. Take the side of the case off and stick your hand. See if you can feel any hotspots. Try to make it where it brings air in from the bottom front and exits the upper back side of the case.

Right now I am running at 44C cpu and 29C case. I am not overclocking the 1.33 Athlon right now.

I have a GlobalWin FOP 32-1 CPU cooler. It came with a medium noisy YSTech fan. I replaced the fan with a YSTech "quiet" fan that has a lower cf/m rating. I bought it here: Subzero

I am using the cooling fans that come in the Lian-Li case.
I also have an Enerex 350W power supply that adds an additional fan righ next to the CPU. The way the Lian-Li case works the grill on the power supply has to be removed before installing it in the case. Removing the grill was easy. Putting it back was harder.

Even though my system has high temperatures I have no problems. I use a A1200 AXIA at 1330 with a Volcano II on an MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition and have a quite narrow case. At the specified speed I reach 51 celcius under full load and oc'ed I reach as much as 59 degress, but I haven't had any problems so far, so I don't really care. At least it is nothng compared to my old slot A...
