1,3 or 1,4 Ghz TB on Abit KT7-Raid? HSF?

Currently I have a Duron 700@700 on my Abit KT7 RAID and a Geforce DDR. I plan to buy a 1,3 or 1,4 Ghz TB (200 FBS) in about 2 weeks.

What shall I buy: 1,3 Ghz or 1,4 Ghz (200 or 266 FSB). Will I ever notive the difference?

And what HSF shall I buy? It must be so small that it can be mounted easily on my KT7. My current Coolermaster (CF5-5G11) HSF was no problem, but what HSF shall I take now for a 1,3 or 1,4 Ghz CPU?

You wont be able to get past 1300 with a 200MHz FSB I think. Not 100% sure though. I think all the 1400s are 266.

For the HSF, I recommend the Taisol 742/760. It is VERY quiet and your CM 5G11 wont be enough for a 1.3 for sure.

Some stores here sell the 200 FSB Athlon with 1400 Mhz....
How big is the Taisol 742/760 ?? It should not be much bigger than the socket itself, because otherwise I have problems in fastening it on the board. There is very limited space aoround the socket 🙁

Magic30: The latest beta BIOS (3Cb01) for the KT7 supports > 1.2 Athlons. The downside is it broke the 133 memory speed - so for now you'd have to run 100Mhz memory speed. I'd expect the release version of this BIOS to fix that problem though. The Taisol will fit no problem.

The KT7 is a KT133 board, it does not support, nor will you be able to overclock to, a 133MHz (well, 266MHz) front side bus. If you must keep the same motherboard, then you have no choice but to go for the 200MHz FSB one.

However, maybe you could sell the KT7 in the FS/FT forum and add about $20-30 to get a KT133A board as well as a 1.3GHz or 1.4GHz 266MHz FSB Athlon?
